Founder's message of condolence on the passing of HRH Prince Philip

The Founder, Mr Edison Choy, today (April 13) sent the following message of condolence to the Royal Family through the online form on the passing of His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, which is excerpted below:

“It is with sadness to write to you, on behalf of the members and the administrators of the Hong Kong Aviation Forum, to express our profound condolences on the passing of a great and experienced pilot, His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.

His Royal Highness’s vision and drive laid the most solid foundation for ensuring the future development in aviation and aerospace.

His Royal Highness has helped the United Kingdom and the world in the growth of the aviation industry and has inspired the next generation of aviation and aerospace professionals across the full spectrum of disciplines through his patron in Aviation Scholarship. He has also made careers in aviation and aerospace attainable to all and led on sustainable aviation. The man who was the key player in making that happen has unfortunately taken his untimely leave, but his legacy of building a thriving and sustainable aviation and aerospace industry will live for generations, not only in the United Kingdom but also in the world over. His Royal Highness will be truly missed.

We join the people of the United Kingdom during this period of national mourning.”
