Acting Head Administrator’s Message on 4th Anniversary of Hong Kong Aviation Forum (English only)

Dear Members,

It has been already four years since the founding of the Hong Kong Aviation Forum. The past year is one of the worse. The aviation industry has experienced a once-in-a-century impact due to global pandemic.

The pandemic caused the closure of historical airlines such as Cathay Dragon Airlines and forced aircraft to retire earlier than scheduled, even worse is that tens of thousands of our aviation co-workers to be laid off or being forced to take unpaid leaves.

The previous year is also a year of a challenge to our Administrators. Our Administrators has worked hard to maintain the forum a safe, free, open and fact-based platform. I sincerely thank all our Moderators for their contributions, especially Mr Choy, who left his position as Head Administrator this June.

The forum has also reformed its Adjudication, not only ensuring discussions to abide by the rules, but also balancing the Administrators’ power to ensure the inevitable rights are fully respected.

At last, I wish for the best to the aviation industry the upcoming year. Together, we could see the dawn to the end of the pandemic and build back better. Last but not least, I send my sincere congratulations to the President-elect of the United States Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris.
