Final Call: Asia Miles switch to new award chart on 1 October

Cathay Pacific's flight award charts will be updated for redemption tickets issued on or after 1 October 2023. This revision will include increases and decreases in the Asia Miles, the currency of the Cathay loyalty programme required to redeem flights with Cathay Pacific and its partner airlines.

The miles required for flights have been increased, except for medium and longer economy flights.

There is a significant increase in miles required for short (Type 2) and medium and longer flights. Travellers will have to pay nearly 30 per cent more miles for free redemption flights.

The increase is even more substantial for upgrade rewards for medium and longer flights, with medium-haul premium economy to business upgrades requiring 60 per cent more than the original award chart.

The Short distance zone has now been divided into two types: Short (Type 1), which includes cities such as Beijing, Kuala Lumpur, Seoul, Shanghai and Singapore; and Short (Type 2), which includes all cities in Japan, Indonesia, India and Nepal.

The previous two Long-distance zones have been merged into a single zone.
