BLACKPINK WORLD TOUR [BORN PINK] HONG KONG will be held 13-15 January 2023 at AsiaWorld Arena. BLINKs, are you excited to meet Blackpink members in person? Your next step is to prepare for your journey to Hong Kong.
COVID-19 travel restrictions remain in place, and all arrivals from overseas countries and Taiwan are required to undergo two PCR tests and rounds of rapid antigen tests. Don't worry, this is a simplified guide of what you need to know and prepare before flying to Hong Kong.
Still, note that this guide is based on the latest travel restrictions and may be subject to change. Check our Hong Kong travel restrictions page for more details and subscribe to our blog to follow any changes.
1. Book your flight
You should reserve your flight in advance, seats may be limited (compared with pre-pandemic) due to the reduced flight capacity and lunar new year
Plan how long you want to stay in Hong Kong
More airlines are gradually resuming or adding flights to Hong Kong following the lifting of quarantine in September
Home carrier Cathay Pacific is forecasted to resume one-third of pre-pandemic capacity by this year
2. Book your hotel
You should book a hotel that accepts infected guests to avoid being sent to isolation facilities in case you tested positive.
3. Vaccination
Make sure you are fully vaccinated: most vaccines are recognised, such as Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, and AstraZeneca
You must be fully vaccinated 14 days before your flight to Hong Kong
You must hold a vaccine certificate issued by the relevant authorities, including your name matching your travel document, vaccination history, the date of the last dose of vaccine, and the name of the vaccine you received
4. Before departure
Take a rapid antigen test (lateral flow test) 24 hours before your scheduled departure and declare the negative results
Complete online check-in if your flight allows
You are not allowed to board a flight to Hong Kong if you tested positive
Fill personal health information (such as declaring your negative test results and vaccination status) on the health declaration form
Screen capture or save the QR code
Tip: If you've tested positive within the last three months, declare your previous positive results and upload relevant proof. That could prevent you from being isolated (for at least five days) if you test positive after arrival to Hong Kong.
5. At the airport
Present your QR code during check-in when required.
6. Arrival at Hong Kong International Airport
Follow the signage: The staff will scan your QR code and check your travel documents
You will be given a specimen bottle and a card (with a lanyard)
You proceed to undergo a PCR test (throat swab; free of charge)
Proceed with immigration, baggage reclaim and customs
Leave Hong Kong International Airport by public transport or other means
Download your medical surveillance notice including your provisional vaccine pass
Screenshot the QR code on your provisional vaccine pass to enter places requiring "active" vaccine pass scanning
7. Must dos
Undergo rapid antigen tests daily and (keep) photograph your RAT results
Undergo PCR test on Day 2 (declare if you leave before Day 2)
throat swab; free of charge, book in advance
Wear a mask in public places, including outdoors, but excluding when exercising and in country parks
Note: If you tested positive
You will be forbidden to leave your designated location for at least five days, including departing Hong Kong.
