What has changed? Flying Cathay in 2022 + Hong Kong International Airport + Korea entry requirements

After being closed for nearly three years, Hong Kong finally removed its mandatory hotel quarantine with the new "0+3" scheme in late September.

What's changed? What do you have to do before departure?

Join me on my first flight in nearly three years as I fly with Cathay Pacific from Hong Kong to Seoul.

Due to the influence of Hallyu culture, millions of tourists visit Korea annually, making it one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world.

Travellers from visa-free countries or regions with the Republic of Korea would require a K-ETA (Korea Electronic Travel Authorization). Travellers must apply for K-ETA more than 72 hours before departure. The application fee is 10,000 KRW, which is valid for two years (from the visa grant date; reapplication is required in case of changing information such as passport information). Apply your K-ETA on the app or on the K-ETA website.

Despite not being compulsory, however, It is highly recommended to use the Q-Code (Quarantine Covid19 Defence) to facilitate smooth entry into Korea.

How does Hong Kong International Airport, which used to be one of the busiest airports in the world currently look like? What's changed departing Hong Kong?

Onboard, we'll experience the Cathay service and see what's changed in the air. Is Cathay Pacific still one of the best airlines? Has the famous Cathay hospitality changed due to cost-cutting?

And finally, we'll land in Seoul Incheon and go through the entry process of the Republic of Korea.
